trying to diagnose a new problem that started after an upgrade from 3.3.0 -> 3.3.12
When searching for new posts, it looks like the markings aren't remembered. I click on a topic and re-run the search and that topic/posts are still marked as unread in the newposts search.
I turned off "ENABLE SERVER-SIDE TOPIC MARKING" and it seems to be a lot more reliable.
I think there might have been an issue either with the migration or something else related to the phpbb_topics_track table. I have some modifications, so I'm mostly interested to hear about:
1. What are the downsides of using client side tracking ?
2. should I try to clear the phpbb_topics_track table?
3. Is there any other diagnosis steps I can do to identify the issue?
