video embedding (which should be GDPR conform by default)

Not sure what you mean by the second part, but video embedding isn't something I personally install on any board. Also, I highly doubt development to work with newer phpBB versions would stop for this extension.

And please! Remove all options like "Disable BBCode", "Disable smilies" ... except "Notify me when a reply is posted" from the edit form.
